CITY BOARD APPOINTMENTS SLATED FOR JULY
(NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS) The City of Nacogdoches will begin accepting applications May 17, 2021 to serve on the following boards:
- Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Board
- Mayor’s Committee on People with Disabilities
- Historic Landmark Preservation Committee
- Nacogdoches Housing Authority
- Planning and Zoning Commission
- Zoning Board of Adjustments
“City Boards and Commissions are important because they enable citizens to participate in local government. Community involvement in these boards and commissions is critical to the continued progress of Nacogdoches.” said Mayor Jimmy Mize. The deadline to submit an application for service on any of these boards is 5 p.m. June 11, 2021. City Council will appoint members to serve on the above boards at a City Council meeting in July. City Board interviews are normally conducted at the end of June at City Hall. Due to Covid-19 and the safety of our citizens, City Board interviews may be conducted via telephone or video conferencing. City staff will keep all applicants informed of the interview process.
