[ARCHIVED] Recycling of Items after the Christmas Holidays

After the Christmas Holidays, many of us find ourselves buried under cardboard boxes, packing paper, and of course wrapping paper. What are you going to do with all this? Well, the City of Nacogdoches has an excellent suggestion. Load up all your cardboard boxes, after flattening them, and take them to one of our two recycling drop off sites. They are located at, C. L. Simon Recreation Center (behind the building) at 1112 North St. or you can also go to our Recycle drop site at the City Landfill located at 4602 N.W. Stallings.

Don’t forget all those old sales fliers, packing paper, newspaper, etc. They can be recycled at the same locations. Unfortunately, Christmas wrapping paper is not recyclable. It must be disposed of with your regular garbage.

How about those Christmas Trees? Once all the ornaments and lights are removed, just place them by the curb. Our brush truck will get them for you on his normal rounds, and take them to Angelina BioMass for recycling. They are located at 612 N.W. Stallings.

Aluminum cans are always welcomed at the City’s Animal Adoption Center, located at 3211 S.W. Stallings. All other unwanted metals/appliances can be sold at Nacogdoches Recycling Center located at 2508 Woden Rd.

Remember, the City does not collect items/trash that is not inside your garbage container. Help us keep our City clean by taking your recycles to the sites mentioned above.
