City Manager

Rick Beverlin was hired in November 2023 as the City Manager for the City of Nacogdoches, Texas.

Rick is a native Houstonian who has spent more than 20 years in urban and transportation planning, transit, municipal management and administration, and economic development in the Greater Austin and Houston areas.

From 2019 to 2023, Rick served as the City Manager of Leander, TX. While in Leander, he played a significant role in the City's steady growth. From 2016 to 2019, he served as Assistant City Manager for Public Transportation and Development Services in the City of Galveston.  Other prior experience includes serving as Economic Development Director for the City of League City, City Administrator for the City of Kemah, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for The Goodman Corporation, and Senior Transportation Planner for the Houston-Galveston Area Council.

Rick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas (1993) and Master of Public Administration from the University of Houston (1996).
